Pictures of our travels on Cape Cod

Posted by on August 30, 2012

I guess I am getting a bit behind on posting about our travels as we moved around on Cape Cod.   (Seeing as we are on Nantucket now).  Great times, a family visit and gorgeous weather have been with us.   We went to Cataumet on the “Upper Cape” as it was the only location where we could get a mooring.  We were too big for all the other locations and the cost of a slip at $270 night was beyond steep.

Here are pictures:

From Cataumet we came back down the coast and through Woods Hole Inlet to go from Buzzards Bay to Vineyard Sound.  Woods Hole was a wild ride as it very narrow and the currents are wicked.  Check out our ride as it sucked us in one side and spit us out the other side.

Stan wanted to go back to Hyannis as we had the grand kids on our last visit and didn’t get to see all that much.  We thought we would try anchoring out as there are no moorings but the windlass for the anchor decided not to cooperate.  Plan B took us into Hyannis Marina and a very expensive slip for the night.  Needless to say I was on the phone moving up our mooring reservations for Nantucket to the next day.  One night was enough to break the bank.  We did get a good walk about in Hyannis the next morning but still didn’t get to the museums.  Maybe next trip?

We are now having a great time in Nantucket and will have lots of pictures of this beautiful island next week.  (Don’t want to completely drown you this time with our pictures.)
