Yea, Honey I’m Coming Home

Posted by on March 28, 2012

It’s nice to get away, especially when I get to spend some time with the Grand-kids and friends but….. I am so looking forward to coming home tomorrow.  Finally a lot has been going on while I was away and it sounds like I would have only been in the way if I was there.  The toilet throne is sitting in the middle of the master head as all the head hoses and Joker Valves are being changed.  Along with that is 50′ of so far unused head hose that is presently taking up space in the salon and snaking around to various other spots.  4 toilets mean an expensive hose replacement job.  The new anchor is installed on the windlass and now trying to figure out how to mount the old anchor for backup on the foredeck.  The dinghy is down, crane is getting an overhaul, lines are being stowed in the cockpit and the engine is on its way back together again.  Handrails are finished, the rotted wood has been replaced, the leaky pilot house window has been re-bedded and gas shocks added to the cockpit window access so things are finally moving along.  Poor Stan is pooped from doing his bit in all of this.

When I get back Stan has added to Karen’s “To Do” list the two back windows to remove the old tracks and fuzzes,  clean and then replace with new stuff so hopefully they will now slide open instead of stuck shut.  At over $4k for 2 new windows we figured it was worth the effort to try and replace the old tracks and fuzzes and see what can be salvaged.  Cleaning of the dinghy is moved to my list now that it is accessible.  Maybe the dinghy motor will be fixed soon so we can take her for a spin.

Maybe we will be out of this damn boat yard sooner than later!!!!  Hopefully before company comes in Mid-April.

    Karen,

These are a bunch of spam comments so I went ahead and did two things: 1 delete the link to their websites 2: change their name to their email address so that, if they are a real person doing this manually and not a bot, then hopefully they will stop.

Hey! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could locate a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having difficulty finding one? Thanks a lot!
